1 tsp. minced fresh ginger (i think we used minced in a jar or powdered)
1 tsp. fresh minced garlic
1/2 tsp. black pepper
Salt to taste
Make the teriyaki sauce marinade. Add all of the ingredients, blend well. taste test and add any additional ingredients for flavor.
Slice, peeled and cored fresh pineapple, set aside. Make the burger patties and place them in a shallow pan. Pour 1/3 of the teriyaki sauce over the ground meat. Marinate for 15 minutes.
Grill the ground salt and peppered meat patties, and pineapple. In the last 5 minutes of cooking, use a basting brush and put a thin layer of the sauce on both sides of the pineapple slices, flip to form diamond grill marks. Baste the grilled meat to your preference.
Serve teriyaki pineapple burgers with or without a bun.
